Why This Founder Chose to Return to the Classroom While Building a Startup

For many entrepreneurs, building a company leaves little time for academics. Thota Mahesh Babu chose a different path.

A Chartered Accountant and founder of MetaAspire, Mahesh has spent the last several years working in finance, professional education, and technology-driven learning. As artificial intelligence and automation continue to reshape the finance industry, he believed that staying relevant required continuous learning—not just experience.

After completing the Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) at IIM Visakhapatnam, he pursued a master’s at IIT Kanpur to deepen his understanding of technology and its growing role in finance and business automation.

His recent IIT Kanpur convocation marks another milestone in that journey. Rather than viewing education as a collection of degrees, Mahesh sees it as a way to bring together finance, technology, and entrepreneurship to build solutions that prepare professionals for the future.

“The future of finance belongs to professionals who understand both business and technology. Learning should never stop, especially for founders,” he says.

As MetaAspire continues to expand its focus on finance, AI, and automation, Mahesh believes the biggest competitive advantage is the willingness to keep learning and evolve with the industry.
